Seattle's only biofueled shuttle for skiers and snowboarders. The Greasebus is running a bit this spring as a trial period. If things go well we will be back next year for a full season with a dedicated bus for Stevens Pass and a seperate bus for the Summit at Snoqualmie. For now we will alternate between the ski areas each day, see calendar. The Seattle Greasebus runs on a blend of biodiesel and waste vegetable oil from restaurants. By utilizing our low carbon - mass transit system you can do your part to help Save Our Snow and allow future generations to enjoy Washington's annual snowpack. Simply sign up for the dates you’re interested in and meet up with the bus on the morning of your trip.

HOW IT WORKS:

The Greasebus service is first-come first-served. For the spring of 2010 we're offering trips to the mountains four days a week, pending at least 10 seats are sold. On the calendar below you can view how many riders are registered for any particular day by clicking on "Sign Up" in that date. Once you are signed up you can always check back to see if we've reached the required 10. The maximum capacity for the bus is 20 people, plus gear. We only accept payment through paypal at this time. If the day you signed up for doesn't get the 10 required sign ups, you will be given an automatic refund from paypal.

WHERE & WHEN:

  • Summit: Thursdays & Saturdays
  • Stevens Pass: Fridays & Sundays

At 8:00 each morning our bus leaves from the parking lot at evo, located at 122 Northwest 36th Street, Seattle, WA. From Evo, we head over to The Snowboard Connection for our second pick-up at 263 Yale Avenue North, Seattle, WA. At 8:30 each morning we leave SnoCon for the mountain. On Summit days we usually arrive around 9:30 and on Stevens days more like 10am. There is plenty of public street parking around each shop, so please don't park in their lot. For directions, please click on the maps to the right. After our day on-hill, the bus departs from the mountain at 4pm.  Depending on weather and traffic, the bus arrives back at SnoCon and Evo between 5pm - 6pm on Summit days, about a half hour earlier than Stevens days.

SIGN UP - Easy as 1-2-3

  • STEP 1: Select a day on the calendar. (Take note of which mountain the bus is headed to.)
  • STEP 2: Reserve your spot on the bus by filling in your mobile phone number.
  • STEP 3: Use a credit card to pay using Paypal (no account required) for just $10

Can't make it? If for any reason you need to cancel, just send your last name to refund@greasebus.com within 24 hours of your departure time. After that, we will count on you to fill the seat.

Thanks to everyone who rode the bus during our spring trial run! We had amazing support from the community through Stevens Pass, Summit, evo, SnoCon and beyond. With a solid foundation laid for next year, things are looking good for at least one full-time Seattle Greasebus. Best case scenario we'll see Stevens, Summit and Crystal buses all running once the snow starts falling for the 2010/11 season. We are currently looking for advertising partners who would like to utilize our unique low carbon - mass transit system for skiers and snowboarders, so spread the word! See you next year.

Sunday Success Storys

It's official, Seattle love the Greasebus, the Greasebus loves Seattle. Since we started running the service every single Sunday has been totally full. We love to run a full bus and max out our carpooling capacity as much as possible. Thanks so much to everyone who supported the Greasebus during our trial run. It was great to meet so many nice people who were willing to show us all the secret spots around Stevens Pass. Northern hospitality at its best. We had a lot of great trips, see you next fall.

April Showers

This weekend has brought close to three feet of new snow to Stevens Pass. Days like these make the job of being a Greasebus driver pretty awesome. I had the pleasure of riding with Danny, Clark, Marilyn and the crew from evo up on Seventh Heaven and out to Grace Lakes.

Up and Running

Thanks to everyone for helping to spread the word. Last Sunday we had a totally full bus, which was an awesome surprise. We are very excited to use this spring as our trial run and things are looking good for a full-time Greasebus next season. Looking forward to shredding with you all again soon. This week Chris will be your driver, be sure to take him on that crazy boardercross/woods run that loops over to the park, that run is awesome! Also, Stevens, i'm back in Oregon and i miss the jump run on the right side of the park, i love that line. Okay, i'm in the lodge at Meadows and it's dumping out, so i need to put this computer away immediately and go snowboard.
