We are very excited to get these beasts back to Portland and start in on the conversions. I drove one down from Seattle, which was pretty simple, but Pete is still on the road, driving the other one back from Missouri. I think he's probably somewhere in Colorado right now, but don't know for sure. These buses will head up to the Olympics to provide shuttle service to the masses of people that will be up there and then one bus will head down to Seattle. From there it'll start the Summit / Stevens Pass service, which we are very excited for. Keep an eye out for these wonderful machines somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

The only "lift" running was the magic carpet but regardless you couldn't see ten feet in front of you. On the way up to the hill i counted eight downed trees that had been toppled by the high winds. On the Meadows access road Chris and i had to get out to actually clear out a pine tree that had shattered onto the roadway. After an hour of hanging in the parking lot the group decided to head back to Portland. For the first time in Greasebus history we made a full trip with zero snowboarding. It was an adventure though and the bus did a great job of plowing through the snow, over ice and trees, while battling the powerful head-winds.

Clif Bar has been supporting our greasy adventures long before the Greasebus was invented. They're always down to help a good cause that promotes alternative methods of transportation. With them on board we're able to keep our ticket prices low as well as feed you a little something on the way to and from the hill. Just picture this, it's 3:30 after a long day of snowboarding, your clothes are damp, you're tired and hungry with an hour and then some between you and a home cooked meal, all of a sudden the driver of the Greasebus hands you a Crunchy Peanut Butter Clif Bar to tide you over, now that right there is worth ten bucks in and of itself!

It's great to be back in action and amazing how much snow there already is up there. This year we're working with a lot of schools, clubs and teams which is going to hinder the public service of the bus a bit, at least for now. We're looking to get a second bus so we can have one devoted to the private groups and the other devoted to the public 7 days a week.
